India: Salute Convention of CDRO and CLC in Hyderabad on 2nd and 3rd September 2017 says Harsh Thakor

SALUTE CONVENTION OF CDRO AND  CLC IN HYDERABAD ON 2ND AND 3RD SEPTEMBER.

TRULY HISTORIC EVENT WHICH EVEN IF QUALITATIVELY SMALL WAS QUALITATIVELY GREAT.

MOST SIGNIFICANT EVENT IN DARK HOUR OF FASCISM  WHERE THE STATE IS BANGING EVERY POSSIBLE TOOTH AND NAIL TO CRUSH THE PEOPLES MOVEMENTS AND STRUGGLES IN EVERY FACET OF LIFE,PARTICULARLY THE PEASANTRY.

On 2nd and 3rd September a convention was held on the 10th anniversary of CDRO on the topic of the supression of the state on the People's Movements.in Hyderabad in Balianghapaaly Vinghiah Sundaram Hall in Hyderabad on September 2nd and 3rd.

The conference discussed in detail on how the Adivasis in Central India, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bastar and in Bihar States. The governments are willfully committing crimes and atrocities on Adivasis in the Central India.

All of this is result of the situation that the Corporates in India like Reliance, Adanis, Tatas, Birlas are ruling India. Many tribal Adivasis from Chattisgarth were present.

The Central and State governments have becoming mere puppets in the hands of these Corporates.

The main speakers attended the conference are Soni Sori, Goutham Navalahka, Malini Subrahmanyam, Bela Bhatia, Prof. Haragopal, Jag Mohan Singh from Punjab and the State committee members of CLC AP and CLC. Adivasis ( Including activist Hidme), people from other parts of India, Civil rights activist from all over India participated.

The conference resolved to strengthen our Joint struggle against the brutal atrocities of the ruling governments.

The most important aspect of the democratic rights movement is the socio-economic semi-feudal,semi-colonial repression which forms the base of the state repression.

Operation Greenhunt is a perfect example of the fascist colours of the state which in the pretext of crushing the Maoist movement is trampling on the genuine struggles of the broad masses and framing civil activists in the name of terrorism.

In recent months civil activist Bela Bhatia was threatened by the police forces having a house arrest for some days.

Professor G.N.Saibaba is languishing  in prison for exposing the fascist socio-political order as well as Hem Mishra and Prashant Rahi.

Hundreds of activists fighting for the self-determination of the Kashmiri people are in prison.

Dalit labourers are victims of landlord persecution with connivance of the police and state machinery.

Muslim minorities live in constant fear of persecution. 500 person assembled.

I spoke on the phone to the Civil Liberties Committee leader who stated that they would not mind even dying to fight for democratic rights.

Really heartening to hear expression of such strong determination.

Gautam Navlakha of PUDR,Salim Saboowala of CPDR, Mumbai,Bela Bhatia and Sonu Suri from Chattisgarh,Jagmohan Singh from AFDR Punjab,Kranti Chaitanya of Civil Liberties Commitee,Telengana and A.P.Prof.Hargopal of Human Rights Forum addressed the conference.Gautam Navlakha narrated the historic background of Kashmir and how the Indian state was denying them their right to self -determination.

The other speakers particularly condemned the encounter killings in no uncertain manner exposing how they were actually murders.

Kranti Chaitanya narrated how even the judicial machinery was becoming a puppet of the ruling classes  and bowing to their dictate.

Overall the event was  major boost to the civil liberties and democratic rights movement..It sowed the seeds for a resurrection of a movement for civil rights which is the very need of the hour in the era of morale fascism where trying to camouflage as a democracy the state is deploying fascist methods to kill democratic activists and supress movements all over the nation.

Today of great significance is the corporates which has the backing of the state to infiltrate  all walks of life and crush all movements of people like that of  tribals in Orissa . and Chatisgarh.

In today's context the civil liberties movement has to even respect the fact that even if they differ with their ideology, the Maoist forces in Bastar represent the struggle for genuine democracy of the Adivasis and must not be condemned.

The model for the democratic rights movement was the formation of the All India Federation of Organizations for Democratic Rights in Guntur 35 years ago which believed that the movement must be struggle oriented and relate with the movements of the workers and peasantry.

The democratic rights movement or organization is like the equivalent of arms or legs to a backbone which are the mass struggles of the broad masses.

Thus a strong democratic rights movement is an absolute necessity for an agrarian revolution.

The democratic rights organization must not become a front organization of any Maoist group and retain it's identity as a mass political platform.

To combat the menace of communal fascism it has to assist in building revolutionary democratic secular fronts or platforms creating mass revolutionary resistance against the forces of Hindu fascist variety .Consistent propaganda must also be done exposing the fascist economic policies which are literally enslaving the toiling masses ,particularly the landless peasantry.

It must be realized that the Hindu communal fascist tend is reaching it's highest peak ever with the judiciary bending or subverting more and more to their dictates.

The Corporates  are also stronger than ever with the sharpening of the tentacles of globalization.

Long Live the Democratic Rights Movement.
